Hot- that ain’t hot

Change of Plan!  Instead of continuing to use the Panguitch area as our base for the next three days, we decided to move further south to the Hurricane/St. George area at a KOA there.  The Explorer has been having brake problems and there is a Ford dealership in St. George.  We made the decision late morning and called the KOA there and confirmed they had availability.  They did.  We booked a spot immediately and went into high gear packing up for the 2 hour drive to the southwest corner of the state.  I went outside to empty the black and gray holding tanks and struck up a conversation with our new neighbor who had just arrived the night before.  He mentioned that he was from St. George, Utah and I casually asked what had brought him up here.  He said he liked the Panguitch area since the temps were only low 80’s.  I asked him about St. George and he said it was 108 degrees in St. George when he left- at 5pm the day before!  The old saying about jumping from pot to the fire came to mind.  We decided to hold up and leave Panguitch later in the day and stop at the Cedar City Walmart for groceries.  We arrived into Hurricane (odd name for a town 2200 miles from the east coast), around 7pm and got quickly set up.  It had now cooled to a pleasant 98 degrees and Thomas, Victoria and I took a long swim in the campground pool.  We are  calling it an early night so I can get the Explorer into the shop tomorrow early.
